Built on a vision. Rooted in faith

Our Story

In January 2024, our founder Richard Larcombe was praying when he felt the Holy Spirit ask him a question: "What happens after you are washed in the blood of Jesus?"

Richard immediately knew what the Lord was referring to... 50 years earlier, in 1974, a young missionary from Germany named Reinhard Bonnke had the same dream in 3 successive nights. He saw the continent of Africa washed in the blood of Jesus and heard the words "Africa shall be saved".

Since that dream in 1974, Africa has experienced perhaps the most remarkable period of church growth in history. It is estimated that more than 500 million people have converted to Christianity during this time-period.

Christ for All Nations Gospel Crusade in Ogbomosho, Nigeria in 2002. During this crusade over 2,500,000 were in attendance and 1,790,114 decision cards were counted!

Richard describes the encounter this way:

I answered the Lord's question: "When you are washed in the blood you experience new birth… resurrection."

Immediately, in my spirit, I heard these words: "Africa will be called the Radiant Continent".

I had a vivid sense of what God is doing in this moment: Bringing His blessing to cause wide-spread transformation. I saw an emerging economic powerhouse Africa. A glorious renaissance in technology, business, education, healthcare, media and the arts. A prosperous Africa leading the world, job opportunities, stable governments, safe cities. Social holiness and jubilee justice.

I believe it is God's heart to make Africa shine, as a sign and a wonder to the world of the new creation realities of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His power to transform lives.

We named the charity Radiant because of Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you" and Psalm 34:5 "Those who look to him are radiant". That is our vision for Africa — not a continent defined by its struggles, but one shining with the beauty of lives transformed by Christ, and the blessing of communities that flourish.

"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."

— Isaiah 60:1

Who We Are

Radiant Evangelistic Association is a UK registered charity (Charity No. 1216942). We are a Christian mission organisation, and our faith is the foundation of everything we do.

We are led by Richard and Philippa Larcombe and governed by a board of trustees. Our trainers and facilitators are drawn from Africa, UK and USA — subject matter experts in business, technology, and Christian leadership who give their time because they share the vision.

We work in deep partnership with local churches, universities, county governments, and community organisations. We believe that transformation happens from the inside out — and our role is to catalyse, equip, and resource, not to lead or control.

What We Believe

The gospel is our foundation

Everything flows from the conviction that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that the life He gives through the gospel is the most powerful force for human transformation in existence. We preach it openly, joyfully, and without apology. If we do nothing else, people must hear and respond to the gospel — this is our first and most urgent priority.

Work is a calling

There is no sacred/secular divide. A business person, a farmer, a software developer — all have a high calling from God to express their creativity, serve their community, and build something that matters. We call this the theology of work, and we teach it in everything we do.

Integrity changes economies

Corruption is one of the most destructive forces in any society. Radiant is committed to cultivating a culture of honesty, fairness, and ethical leadership — modelled by us, taught in our programmes, and publicly pledged by the business people we equip.

We build with communities, not for them

Lasting transformation happens from the inside out. Our role is to catalyse and resource — not to impose. Every initiative is shaped in partnership with local leaders, churches, and communities.

A Note on Faith

Radiant is a Christian charity and our faith informs everything we do. All our events include prayer and the proclamation of the gospel. At the same time, our programmes are open to all, regardless of faith or background. We believe in the dignity of every person, and we work for the good of whole communities.

A Note on Safeguarding and Policy

Radiant is committed to the safety and dignity of everyone we work with. We operate under a suite of governance policies — covering safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, conduct, and financial integrity — which are overseen by our trustees and are available on request.
