The five pillars of the Radiant Movement
Radiant is a movement before it is a charity. Not a movement of programmes and events, but a movement of people — across Africa and around the world — who share a common identity and a common calling.
These five pillars define that identity. They are the convictions that mark every person who is part of the Radiant Movement. They are the values from which our strategic priorities flow. And they are the vision of what a radiant Africa — and a radiant people — looks like.
The Five Pillars
A Christ-Adoring Movement
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation." Colossians 1:15
Jesus Christ is the Radiant One. He is the radiance of the Father — the God-man, risen and exalted, King of kings. Everything Radiant does begins and ends with Him. This is a movement of people who love the Lord Jesus with their whole hearts, worship Him as King, and find in Him the source of everything that is good, true, and beautiful. This is who we are for: Jesus, and Him alone.
A Holiness Movement
"Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy." Hebrews 12:14
Holiness is not a burden — it is the most beautiful thing in the universe. God is holy, pure, and spotless. Through the blood of Jesus, He calls His people to reflect that beauty in the world. For us, holiness is joyful. It looks like personal integrity, honest business, fair dealings, care for those around us, and lives that shine with the character of God in every sphere.
A Prayer Movement
"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10
Heaven is the blueprint. There is no poverty in heaven, no corruption, no war, no disease. The mandate to pray 'your kingdom come' is the mandate to bring the realities of heaven into the reality of earth. Prayer is not supplementary to the Radiant vision — it is the engine of it. We dream of prayer gatherings springing up everywhere: people laying hold of heaven for the transformation of entire regions.
A Soul-Winning Movement
"And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:47
Radiant is an evangelistic ministry at heart. We are a movement of people who have confidence in the gospel — the conviction that it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. Soul-winning looks different in different contexts: a mass crusade in an open field, a student sharing their faith on campus, a business owner praying with a colleague. Scale does not matter. What matters is that the gospel is proclaimed, making disciples, and expanding the kingdom of God.
A Social Justice Movement
"Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!" Amos 5:24
God's heart for the poor, the marginalised, and the oppressed runs through the entire Bible. He hates injustice — including the injustice of economies rigged against the poor, corruption that holds whole nations back, and systems that keep families locked in poverty. As Radiant people, we pray, advocate, and build — believing that faith without deeds is dead, and that the outworking of our faith must be in action that brings social justice. Every great move of God in history has led to measurable social transformation. We exist to provoke a generation to play their part in building the radiant Africa God has promised.
